… I sell handwoven carpets, poufs, pillows, and covers. that consist of sheep wool, cotton, and natural silk. Those products are made by local women that have a keen eye for attractive designs, as their whole environment is embellished by natural beauty, and also for their cultural traditions of makeup and tattooing. They are transferring their knowledge into those crafts we sell.

… Among our first products is our uniquely designed therapy sensory swing for kids 3 to 14 years old. Therapy swing does wonders, not only it is extremely fun for kids but also, its Flexible and stretchy fabric is great for occupational sensory integration therapy, vestibular stimulation, spatial awareness to name a few.

… My name is Allison. I started Cake Art Creations on Etsy in 2008. I make custom made personalized glitter cake toppers for any occasion that has a cake. I have been a cake decorator and papercraft designer for over 20 years. In the cake industry, I saw the trends turning towards cake toppers as decoration for cakes.

… For the most part, my materials are fairly cheap. I source most of my ingredients from another Etsy shop, and I feel like I definitely get what I pay for. Cotton, however, can be a lot more complicated because prices can vary and shipping isn’t always reliable. Generally, I price my items at cost, then average shipping costs and labor to be represented across all products.

They are all handmade by local artisans and me, so there are many years of culture and history in each item. The fabrics used are all handmade and nothing is mass-produced. … My main product is a 3D Structured Face Mask. They are made with 100% cotton and have very stiff interfacing that keeps them away from the nose and mouth while being really breathable. My 3D masks also have tabs and adjustable elastics that are really soft and can be interchanged behind the ears or around the head.

… I consider myself a novice crafter. I’m still learning from my community. One thing for certain is that I am a lot happier doing what I do today… then I’ve ever been in my life. My background and education is an engineer, I spent over 25 years working for a fortune 500 company.. reporting to work 12 hours a day. Eventually.. my family life suffered, my health was impacted, and I burned out.
