Tell us something about yourself. What is your niche? How did you get your idea or concept for the business?


Hi, My Name is Julia. I run a family business specializing in Baltic Amber. I love creating, designing, experimenting, learning new skills, working with artists. I enjoy photography and sharing with people all that I do.


What are your responsibilities as a business owner?


I specialize in Baltic Amber. I m the creator and designer of my jewelry. My hobby is photography which plays a huge role in the social media side. As a business owner, you have a lot of responsibilities which include planning, finance management, dealing with sales, keeping an eye on the performance, and many more.

What are your best selling products, what type of materials are used in your creations, how do you design your products, what makes your products stand out?


My products are unique and normally one-off pieces. Each amber piece has a story. Sometimes you need just one look at the piece and you know straight away what it will be a beautiful pendant or part of a necklace.


What do you enjoy most about being an entrepreneur? What’s the hardest about it?


My working hours are flexible and it lets me spend time with my children. I enjoy working late in the evenings.


Who do you sell to (and how do you get customers)? What marketing tools or strategies you use to boost your sales? Are you satisfied with the results?


I have a different customer base. My products are unique and people like that. My strategy is to aim high with customer service.


Do you believe there is a winning formula for becoming a successful entrepreneur? What is yours?


I think you need to be passionate about what you do, keep reaching goals, and enjoy the journey.


What was the toughest moment you have experienced in your business practice? How did you succeed to get over it and move forward?


My company is 17 years old and so far I didn’t face any tough moments. 2020 brought to us all feelings of uncertainty and I would say it is quite challenging times.


What inspires you when you’re creating? How do you get ideas for new products? What are some methods or tools you use to get creative?


My inspiration is nature.


Do you ship your product internationally? How do you handle postage pricing? What is the average time it takes from the order to the delivery? Do you use free shipping? If so, why? How do you package your products?


Yes, we do ship our products internationally and people enjoy our Amber Products all around the world. We use royal mail for our shipping because it is a reliable service.


What would you say are the key elements for starting and running a successful online business?


A good plan, dedication, and hard work.

Its is always good to make research and a good plan

For me, it is creative expression and freedom.


Describe your day-to-day operation. How do you manage your time?


I try to deal with orders and e-mail first thing in the morning and creating for the rest of my day.
