… I’ve set up a system that allows for design work to happen quickly – inspiration can happen anywhere so you have to have the tools to be able to design quickly. I like my online business to be fun and a creative outlet instead of work. If I can keep it in that space, the designs are better and much more interesting.
… As a stay-at-home mother who also works from home, I have always struggled with keeping the balance. Since my youngest child is still so young and not in school it’s important that I spend the day caring and playing with him and work on a night. However, the busier I get the more challenging this is becoming since it means I work into the early hours of the following morning. This is still something I am overcoming 5 years later.
… I sell facemask chains. I use glass beads and string. My products are colorful and fun. They are eye-catching because of their bright colors. I design them taking into consideration their purpose; they have to be comfortable and light waited but they also have to be fashionable. I get inspiration from jewelry designs and styles that I find interesting. I then experiment with color combinations.
… When I first started to sell I was so worried if they liked it or not that I would message them to make sure this was exactly what they wanted. getting replies like “yea, that’s exactly what I was looking for” makes me relax and say well I hope they like it and I wanted to hear the feedback to know I can improve the products to customer satisfaction.
… The original goal when I opened up an Etsy shop is to spread the word about my handmade face masks’ awareness. What impacted my decision to start selling online the most is my fan base encouraging me to. I consider online selling a side-job and I do it for fun as a hobby. There is so much fulfillment that comes with this as consumers review my product and love it!
… Hello, my name is Sara! I am an Art historian and traveler lover. I am a treasure hunter I would like to say. I’ve always been very restless and traveling. I had many wonderful pieces that I had been accumulating throughout my travels. Soulless objects purchased in markets, craft shops, ateliers, and native villages from remote locations.
… I always dabbled in design since my background is in marketing and I had to do multiple projects for large retail and travel clients. I also am a performer and was always a very creative person so manifesting my ideas into clothing and home items was just another natural step.
… I had heard of Etsy since 2014, I used to buy quality one-off pieces on the platform but it never occurred to me I could be a seller myself. Then along came the pandemic which encouraged me to try and give never looked back. The sense of gratification when someone expresses how pleased they are with their purchase is all worth it.
… I sell everything around Tribal Style and Tribal Fusion costumes: Bras, belts, headpieces, and some jewelry I design myself by using old and new materials depending on the look I want to create. I also sell the components for the customer’s own creations and I also sell the needed jewelry to make the look complete. I have to say I am more than thankful to have found a good provider for the needed authentic materials.
