Tell us something about yourself. What is your niche? How did you get your idea or concept for the business?
Max & Lea is the story of two great dads who love their children deeply, so they decided to do something to help their children develop the best way possible and to stimulate them. Concerned about the dangers of using screens for children and about plastic pollution, they decided to launch a range of natural, healthy, and educational toys. These toys will allow every child to learn while having fun. Each toy is designed to evolve with the child and will adapt to the age of each child, who will be able to keep them and play with them for longer.
What are your responsibilities as a business owner?
At Max & Lea, we believe that every child has talents and that there is a genius hidden in each one of them. We know that every child has the power to build a better and more beautiful world. We believe that by exploring their own world each child will be able to achieve and live their dreams. This is why at Max & Lea, we design our toys with a lot of love and always keeping in mind the four foundations of an ideal education: Stimulation, Autonomy, Creativity, and the Pleasure of playing!
What are your best selling products, what type of materials are used in your creations, how do you design your products, what makes your products stand out?

The most important thing is to be visionary, to react quickly, to understand your market and your customers, and above all to have an extraordinary capacity of resistance in order to withstand fatigue, difficulties and to be able to take risks.
What was the toughest moment you have experienced in your business practice? How did you succeed to get over it and move forward?
Every moment of our company’s creation has been a difficult one. But when we see the success of our young company and the hundreds of customers who write to thank us, this joy quickly makes you forget all the difficult moments.

Do you ship your product internationally? How do you handle postage pricing? What is the average time it takes from the order to the delivery? Do you use free shipping? If so, why? How do you package your products?
Our logistics platform located in France is able to send our toys very quickly to all European countries. Transport costs are very high for our company because our toys are made of wood, so they are heavy and bulky. In order not to charge our customers for the full cost of delivery, we have decided to play a significant part of these costs ourselves. This decision has had a significant effect on the decrease in our margins but has resulted in higher customer satisfaction and thus increased customer loyalty.
What would you say are the key elements for starting and running a successful online business?
The main thing is to have an idea, refine it, and follow through with your dream.

For me, Creative expression and innovation are the beginning of entrepreneurship and success. Then it takes a lot of courage, hard work and of course money!

Part of our time is spent imagining new toys. Another part to develop our sales network and finally the last part to improve the customer experience on our website and with our users.
