Tell us something about yourself. What is your niche? Why did you start your business?
We design custom products to hold all your favorite memories together. Our niche is offering customized products with one difference: we make real this process by taking into consideration the condition of the modern world. For example, people do not like cliché printouts anymore because the world is so much digitalized. Thus, we transfer people’s real-life memories into a digital form. We started our business to create an environment that is able to diversify the sector by designing innovative products.
What type of products do you sell? How does your manufacturing process look like?
We print the photos that you chose on canvas, mugs, pillows, or phone cases. We also design various creative products such as airport-themed pillows, and t-shirts for special days. When the customers choose and send us their own or pets’ pictures to us, we send these pictures to our illustrators. Then, these illustrators’ final products are sent to our print-partners which are located in different countries based on the location of the customer. Thanks to this process, the customer can receive the order as soon as possible.
What are some challenging aspects of your business? How did you overcome them?
Since we run our business mostly online, we have many employees from different locations. However, our target market countries’ time zones cannot overlap with the time zones of our employees’ locations. Therefore, we assigned specific locations to a specific group of employees that are the most appropriate people for that time zone.
What do you enjoy most about being an entrepreneur? What’s the hardest about it?
We enjoy presenting the designs that we create own by own with our all team including interns and experts. We bring together people having different perspectives; moreover, form a strong team with them. Thus, we are able to offer a wide product range, and we are really pleased to satisfy so many types of customers’ interests. Besides all of these pleasant feelings, of course, there are some difficulties in our field, too. We have to maintain our power to be creative all the time and produce qualified designs at the same time. This is a significant challenge for us.
What are some beginner mistakes you made? What advice or words of inspiration would you like to share?
Do not sell anything you will not use yourself! This has become our motto. At first, you start looking for products that serve your purpose of making money as a seller. But we realized that we don’t enjoy it, and if we don’t enjoy it, we cannot achieve success. That’s why we place non-money-oriented products in our store that we can only want to buy.
What inspires you while designing and/or creating new products.
We sell products that we would like to buy. We inspired by current events, our memories, and the environment.
How did you get the background and skills necessary to run this type of business?
We all have different educational backgrounds. Having various training provided us with different skills. However, we have gained all the necessary skills mostly by experience. Also, our observation ability made us adapt quickly.
What are some of the most effective ways in terms of marketing products to your customers?
When we have a range of relevant products, they make each other stand out. Customers click on our shop to view one product, then see the others. This makes us more visible. Therefore, it is important to have a variety of similar products.
What would you say are the key elements for starting and running a successful online business?
Being fast and reliable are key elements to run an online business. You have to fast and adaptable to survive in the digital world. Moreover, you have to be reliable which means you have to have positive feedbacks for the customer to trust your store.
How do you personally define business success? Is it money? Freedom? Influence? Creative expression and innovation? Something else?
In my opinion, success cannot be defined with a single word. It is not only money or innovation. When we have influence, creative expression, and money at the same time, it is a successful situation for our business.
Describe your day-to-day operation. How do you manage your time?
Since we mostly work from home, every day is not the same. We organize our work based on that day’s to-do list.
How do you plan on growing your business? What is the biggest impact on your profitability?
We aim to improve our social media accounts to get to know better by potential customers. We want to discover and promote new opportunities to use our products. This will also allow us to encourage existing customers to buy more. Close management of our costs is the biggest impact on our profits. We need to be organized and find more effective ways to produce the same quality.
