… I want all my knits to be sustainable, so I only use odd ends of leftover yarns or thrift yarns. This means all my knits are really yarn lead because I don’t get a choice in what I use! I encourage anyone using my patterns to use up their old ends of yarn instead of leaving them in a cupboard somewhere! It’s a really fun way to be more sustainable and get creative with what is already there.

… One of the biggest challenges in our business is to find out the sock’s pattern which our customers will like. It is very difficult to predict, whether customers will desire to have the socks, whether the set of colors will be the best. To overcome it and to increase the probability of success we always make a little survey and ask our friends and family for their opinions.

… The main shoes I use for customization would be Old Skool Vans or Air Force 1’s. All customization is made by my own hands and can take anywhere between 4 – 12 hours to make. As it stands I am a 1 man team but hopefully, that will change with time.

… I am a Pole living in mountainous regions. My family has been in the small sheepskin industry for over 30 years. Working in England, I’ve experienced how much natural sheepskin clothing is desirable in Western countries. My idea was to expand my father’s Yeti company with the name Yeti & Sons and expand the business to markets all over the world.

… We sell slow fashion items, timeless style clothes, mostly for men. Both affordable and original. We focus on the design and manufacture of small tailor workshops in Asia. This allows us to be competitive with the big industry players. The cultural gap is very challenging when you work with international partners. We manage to overcome this challenge by spending much time with our workshop partners, almost half of the year in Asia.

… I use royal mail for postage worldwide for small parcels and generally, they are delivered within a week. As a small business, I can not cover the cost, so I charge the customer. Larger items go out with ups which is a great and fast courier. Parcels go in pip boxes or bubble wrap and a card with a flyer on how to look after their clothing.

… I think about running a successful business you should work a lot. As well as you have to bring a strong team together. People who will share the same values with you. And as well very important to have strong and right values. Which will lead you to the perfect relationship, right rules, and strong company.

… The organization, product procurement, efficient production, and communication. The organization is the top priority because receiving online orders can quickly get out of control and sacrifice customer service if you don’t have systems in place. Customer service is also our top priority. We always want to make sure that our customers are happy.

… I came up with the idea over 2 years ago and I just recently launched. It’s been a process: evolving from idea to identifying vendors (shirts, shipping bags, business cards, stickers), selecting shirt quality, selecting shirt quantity, establishing an LLC, opening a commercial bank account, buying products which will assist with your business…it’s definitely a process. As long as I stay focused, I have no doubt this will be a success.

… Our main item is our Kurta Pajama which is an ethnic outfit for boys. The set consists of a long shirt with pants. We want our designs to be playful and appealing to children. We start by picking out fun and quirky cotton fabrics so they are breathable and playful. We keep our sizing so that it is easy to play in.
