Tell us something about yourself. What is your niche? How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Hi, my name is Ezgi. I’m an artist who can use a variety of resources to generate art. I create stylish paintings for those who like their favorite scenery on their wall. I started my business on Etsy, thinking that I could make a difference by producing unique arts. Rapidly, this idea grew on me and I established my own style of art. I create my concept by inspiring from the most iconic movies and TV shows.

What are your responsibilities as a business owner?

I feel deeply responsible every second of the moment I receive my orders. Therefore, I neatly take care of my customers and their wishes by keeping in touch with them until they receive their parcel. It is very crucial for me since I handle every single step of the process including the preparation of the art and the packaging.

What are your best selling products, what type of materials are used in your creations, how do you design your products, what makes your products stand out?

I think every single product that I produce is very special but there are of course most favorite ones where people prefer most. These are the scene of Argonath from Lord of the Rings, The Mandalorian from Star Wars Universe, and The Geralt of Rivia Riding Solo from the Witcher Universe.

What do you enjoy most about being an entrepreneur? What’s the hardest about it?

That I have more options to navigate my business and more opportunities to grow. I stay focused and moving forward by doing what I love which is creating art. Sharing these arts with people and getting feedback from them make me feel building progress.

Who do you sell to (and how do you get customers)? What marketing tools or strategies you use to boost your sales? Are you satisfied with the results?

I sell my products to everyone who desires to see their favorite scenery in the shape of art. I mostly use Etsy to promote my business and in addition to that social media is also where I present my arts. I think the result could be better considering how hard I work. I believe I do my job well enough as an artist which brings more feedback and people. I follow up with my agenda in order to market my products.

I believe being nice to customers and take care of their needs in a way of respect is the formula of success.

What was the toughest moment you have experienced in your business practice? How did you succeed to get over it and move forward?

Shipping is the most challenging part of my business. I have to follow up with my orders and make sure that every single of them gets delivered. Once I ship my products, sadly I have no control over them which makes things a little tricky because sometimes they might get delayed.

What inspires you when you’re creating? How do you get ideas for new products? What are some methods or tools you use to get creative?

I inspired the most popular TV series and movies when I’m creating my art. Iconic scenes are where I’m getting my ideas. I get creative by simply using different color palettes and my kind of adding on the art.

Do you ship your product internationally? How do you handle postage pricing? What is the average time it takes from the order to the delivery? Do you use free shipping? If so, why? How do you package your products?

Yes, I handle postage pricing based on my country post office rates. It takes 7-14 business days to Europe and 14-21 days to the USA excluding the processing time of 2-6 business days. Yes, I offer free shipping to worldwide. It is simply much easier for my customers to relate pricing. I use bubbles to wrap my arts then I use sturdy cardboard to package them.

What would you say are the key elements for starting and running a successful online business?

Responsibility, honesty, and ambition.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs who are starting out?

I can advise them to be customer friendly and try to cover their loss. Do not forget that customer is always right 🙂

How do you personally define business success? Is it money? Freedom? Influence? Creative expression and innovation? Something else?

I think all of them have a little bit of a role in this journey. They are all connected to each other in terms of completing this story. You need money to maintain your business, freedom to navigate your business, influence to effect others to that looking for inspiration.
