Tell us something about yourself. What is your niche? How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Working with color is my niche which I can’t live without! I paint through my emotions expressionistically, very free, and intuitively.

What are your responsibilities as a business owner?

My responsibility as an artist is to paint every single day and challenge myself with new concepts and help the canvas to come alive.

What are your best selling products, what type of materials are used in your creations, how do you design your products, what makes your products stand out?

Most of what I paint will sell in due time, I am a mixed media expressionist, and hold a special love for painting on canvas. Anything from oil, oil pastels, acrylic, and even watercolor at times. I get pretty funky at times with how I apply the paint.

What do you enjoy most about being an entrepreneur? What’s the hardest about it?

As an overtly empathic, sensitive individual, my best practice is to paint through any emotion I come to experience, utilizing the emotion as a strength rather than a hindrance.

Who do you sell to (and how do you get customers)? What marketing tools or strategies you use to boost your sales? Are you satisfied with the results?

My work has attracted all types, and I am new to the online world of marketing. I have sold in mini-galleries, boutiques, fundraisers, and through word of mouth.

Do you believe there is a winning formula for becoming a successful entrepreneur? What is yours?

Wholeheartedly believing in myself and my artwork.

What was the toughest moment you have experienced in your business practice? How did you succeed to get over it and move forward?

As a human being suffering from Borderpolar2, my biggest mountain is finding work, and working through my emotions as they come and painting with each emotional experience.

What inspires you when you’re creating? How do you get ideas for new products? What are some methods or tools you use to get creative?

My inspiration comes from within, as the painting proceeds, the painting will come alive and it begins to guide me to its fruition.

Do you ship your product internationally? How do you handle postage pricing? What is the average time it takes from the order to the delivery? Do you use free shipping? If so, why? How do you package your products?

I have never sold a piece internationally, although a filmmaker once bought a piece and brought it back with him to Iceland. Order to delivery can all depend on how the customer would like the canvas prepped. Free shipping can be applicable, contingent on many things.

What would you say are the key elements for starting and running a successful online business?

Staying present and readily available for communication and inspiration.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs who are starting out?

Trust your gut. Don’t ever give up.

How do you personally define business success? Is it money? Freedom? Influence? Creative expression and innovation? Something else?

Most definitely creative expression and innovation. Challenging your own perspectives, staying open, and learn the power of growth.

Describe your day-to-day operation. How do you manage your time?

I will paint every day, even if I only have 30 minutes to do so. Ideally, I like spending 3-4 hours per day on canvas.

How do you plan on growing your business? What is the biggest impact on your profitability?

Get better with online marketing!

What are some things you did to set your shop for success on Etsy? What is one lesson you learned the hard way?

I am quite new to Etsy, and am ready for all the learning experiences to come!
