Tell us something about yourself. What is your niche? How did you get your idea or concept for the business?
Hi, I’m Delil Akin. I’m from Turkey and 28 years old. Founder of Vosenta.com. My niche is to make style affordable to most people. I try to create a unique style and it to the products that people can use in everyday life. I mostly sell leggings, Phone cases, and T-shirts.
What are your responsibilities as a business owner?
In recent months my store sales are skyrocket. I hard deal with this kind of order volume. But its also a lot of fun. Seeing people buy your products feels amazing and motivate you to make better ones. Managing the store brings too many responsibilities. You have to satisfy your customer and make them happy. Otherwise, you can’t be successful.
What are your best selling products, what type of materials are used in your creations, how do you design your products, what makes your products stand out?
My best selling products are phone cases. I Have 3 types of cases; Flexi Cases, Tough Cases, and Slim Case. You can one of them depends on your needs. I try to use the best material in the industry to increase the quality. But people don’t buy my cases because of their material they buy it because of the design(Art) on them. I research what people looking for and try to make the best design on that niche, this makes my product stands out.
What do you enjoy most about being an entrepreneur? What’s the hardest about it?
I like the Challenge. Id likes to make things.
The hardest part of the bein entrepreneur is … Don’t know actually. The hard part of being, an entrepreneur is what makes is fun.
Who do you sell to (and how do you get customers)? What marketing tools or strategies you use to boost your sales? Are you satisfied with the results?
I have a website and an Etsy store. I use Pinterest, Google Ads, and Etsy to promote my product. Most of my customers from the United States. In the first time, conversion rates are low if keep working and working the things get better. For now, Everything going well.
Do you believe there is a winning formula for becoming a successful entrepreneur? What is yours?
There is some classic thing you should care about like; Keep quality, make your customer happy, and keep working until you succeed.
Besides that ı use the 80/20 rule and the golden ratio(When ı design graphic).
What was the toughest moment you have experienced in your business practice? How did you succeed to get over it and move forward?
The toughest moment is the early time of my business. I keep promoting and promoting but its seam no one care. But you shouldn’t give up and keep working. That’s what I did. If things go wrong you should be calm and try to find a solution. Keep calm and be successful.
What inspires you when you’re creating? How do you get ideas for new products? What are some methods or tools you use to get creative?
I get inspired by everting. You can see it if you check my product. Actually don’t have any methods to be creative. I just let my imagination control my hand when ı draw something. Just free your imagination and you will see how actually you’re creative are.
Do you ship your product internationally? How do you handle postage pricing? What is the average time it takes from the order to the delivery? Do you use free shipping? If so, why? How do you package your products?
Yes, I ship internationally. I work with the best production partners available. Pur production time 1-7 days. It’s slow because of the COVID-19 situation. Also, offer free shipping worldwide for some of my products. I usually use plastic bags.
What would you say are the key elements for starting and running a successful online business?
Find an idea.
Make sure that idea compatible with your skils.
Start small, think big.
Try to find a unique strategy to make you shine.
Keep work until success.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs who are starting out?
Don’t give up if you cant succeed. Just try again and again. There is always a breaking point. Keep working. Don’t think having your job is mean easy money. Competition is hard. You should do your best to succeed.
How do you personally define business success? Is it money? Freedom? Influence? Creative expression and innovation? Something else?
For me its creative expression and innovation? The money will come if you achieve creativity and innovation.
Describe your day-to-day operation. How do you manage your time?
When ı wake up I check the orders and make my production partners fulfill these orders as soon as possible. Then I reply to customers’ messages and emails. Check my website and Etsy store stats and decide the marketing strategy. When ı finished all this stuff. I try to be creative and create new designs, finding a product idea, or think about the way to improve my business. I don’t need much free time because these things that ı mention make me happy.
How do you plan on growing your business? What is the biggest impact on your profitability?
I plan to make facilities so ı can make my product by myself. And don’t depend on production partners. This will increase the quality and shipping time tremendously. Also, ı will hire employees to help me so ı cant focus on the thing that I good at it.
What are some things you did to set your shop for success on Etsy? What is one lesson you learned the hard way?
Offer customizable products that will increase your sales. People on Etsy love customizable products. My shipping time slightly longer than usual, this negatively affects my business.
