Tell us something about yourself. What is your niche? Why did you start your business?


The story behind pure&linen must be the most common case, as I have started making 100% linen home textile when I could not find anything of what I have imagined the perfect bedding should be in the market 🙂 Based in Lithuania, where linen cultivating traditions historically are very deep I have this love for linen and everything that is natural but wanted to add the modern touch, a bit of color, and functionality to it, that is how my brand was born.


What type of products do you sell? How does your manufacturing process look like?


All of our products are 100% linen home textile products, mostly linen bedding sets. We are a small company of friends working together, having a common vision of handmade products and conscious consuming, thus it is important to us that we use as many local materials and services as possible, but also being on the global market we are happy to be able to respond to every person’s specific vision with our customizable handmade linen textile products.

What are some challenging aspects of your business? How did you overcome them?


In my opinion, a good business is not only the perfect product but more importantly the person who buys it. So I have a dream to bring my customer service experience to perfection. We have quite a wide time range to produce our products (1-2 weeks), but I would like to contract this product time to several days. The biggest current challenge in our handmade business would be our ability to execute orders as quickly as we would like to, and, as it would be good for the customer. Maybe it’s time to think about how to expand our ranks and accept new members into our company family:)


What do you enjoy most about being an entrepreneur? What’s the hardest about it?


I love being an entrepreneur! Being able to plan a day on my own, put together daily, weekly, monthly life and business goals and tasks are what drives me forward and what gives me strength and energy. When you do such a job, there is no time, nor desire to procrastinate,- always looking for an opportunity to be a better version of yourself. Positive thinking and gratitude are what gives me strength. Negative side? So far I don’t see one, I suggest everyone try out the entrepreneur’s way, it really liberates you. I have learned to accept the instability of this kind of job as a normal part of everyday life and it just does not bother me, on the contrary, it gives me the stimulus to act and find the solutions.


What are some beginner mistakes you made? What advice or words of inspiration would you like to share?


A lot of mistakes have been made, but they raise you both as an entrepreneur and as a human being. You go that route and learn, and that’s the greatest gift. I say that sometimes it’s hard to just start doing something because you begin comparing yourself to others, thinking too much and the numbers seem daunting. I just want to encourage others to just start the business you had been dreaming of and deal with the twists when they come! Action brings clarity!


What inspires you while designing and/or creating new products.


It is always nature and art that inspires me to create new products. Sometimes you see something and it just clicks inside you and you carry that vision until it is fulfilled.


How did you get the background and skills necessary to run this type of business?


When you have a dream and a vision I believe you have all the required resources inside you to fulfill it. It takes courage to go that way because the mistakes are unavoidable, but they help you to improve and give you the stimulus to grow. Thus step by step you learn and if you like this kind of constant growth philosophy, then this way is definitely for you:)


What are some of the most effective ways in terms of marketing products to your customers?


I think customer reviews are the best marketing ways for us. But we try to be more visible on social media platforms as well. Investing in marketing was also a good decision as well.


What would you say are the key elements for starting and running a successful online business?


Product and customer experience- these are the two legs our business stands firmly on. But also management and marketing, and many other important features are the keys to running a successful business. Taking online classes, listening to other success stories, learning something new all the time, this should help to learn the ways to start and run a successful business.

How do you personally define business success? Is it money? Freedom? Influence? Creative expression and innovation? Something else?


Surely the money and the freedom to act and express yourself is a true indicator of success. For me personally, it is also that energy that I feel, that gives me the satisfaction of what I do. Thus all these factors in one may be the definition of success to me.


Describe your day-to-day operation. How do you manage your time?


First of all, I do plan my time. I divide the things that are urgent and need to be taken care of immediately and those that may need some thinking of, those matters are included in the weekly/ monthly plan, but may not have an actual day or hour to be fulfilled. I usually check my planner in the evening before bed, so I know what EVENTS I have planned and then in the morning I distribute them through the day according to their priority. Usually, it is some packing, email answering, supply checking, etc in the mornings, and some creative activities, like writing, visioning after lunch.


How do you plan on growing your business? What is the biggest impact on your profitability?


I plan to increase the expenses on marketing, raise brand awareness on social media, as well as I do want to find more partners with whom I could have successful collaborations.
