Tell us something about yourself. What is your niche? How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

My name is Emilia Angergård and I’m a Swedish influencer with over 50K followers on Instagram. I love to take photos and I love to be creative and edit them with different presets! I’ve always been so fascinated by how you can turn a grey, boring picture into a bright and cool one. That’s why I started 2020 to sell my presets, first on my official website but then also on Etsy so I would reach people all around the world! Now I have together with my official website and Etsy reached over 5000+ orders in only 8 months. I just want other people to find it easy to edit a boring picture and make it look more vacay or maybe fashionable. And quick info for you that don’t know about presets, but it basically filters for your photos. It is free to download the lightroom app and to create an account. And you can have as many presets as you want! We have an easy tutorial on our official website on how you install and use the presets.

What are your responsibilities as a business owner?

I try to update my shop with the latest presets, so my customers have many options to choose from. And I market with Etsy ads, Instagram influencers, and newspaper. I also re-post my costumer’s pictures (if they tag our IG account), I love to see all of their pictures using my presets! And every day I answer emails and messages about how you install the presets. I will always try my best to help you.

What are your best selling products, what type of materials are used in your creations, how do you design your products, what makes your products stand out?

The “natural chic presets package” and the “tanned” preset is the most popular presets today. And I think that natural chic is very trendy right now because of influencers like Matilda Djerf etc. And most people want a neutral feed and not so many changes to their photos. I love this kind of trend! But all of my vacay filters are also very nice for those who travel a lot, want brighter colors, more tanned looked skin, etc. And I think all of my presets stands out because it is very easy to pick out which kind of feed you want. Do you want a travel feed? Then choose the vacay filters. Do you want a beige toned feed? Then choose the beige tones presets package! Super easy <3

What do you enjoy most about being an entrepreneur? What’s the hardest about it?

I’ve been an entrepreneur since 2014 and it has been a struggle I must say! I tried so many different business options for me and I think that’s the best part of being an entrepreneur. You have all of these ideas and you just try them all until you find the best option for you. But you’re working for yourself and creating your own path. And that is an amazing feeling!

Who do you sell to (and how do you get customers)? What marketing tools or strategies you use to boost your sales? Are you satisfied with the results?

I sell to creative people who love to take photos. Most of them are women who want to give their Instagram feed a makeover and it is women from 16 years old to maybe 40 years old mothers! And here on Etsy most of my customers are from the US, but on our website, they’re from Europe. So it’s pretty cool to have customers all around the world and to see pictures from these different countries using my presets. And using my presets, they often post it on Instagram or instastory and tag our IG, and that’s how we get most of our marketing! I also use Etsy ads to reach more, so far so good!

Do you believe there is a winning formula for becoming a successful entrepreneur? What is yours?

What was the toughest moment you have experienced in your business practice? How did you succeed to get over it and move forward?

I think it was when I started up the lightroom presets. store website. I had no idea how to do it, how it would work out with installing, downloading, and everything around! I basically had to learn everything and do everything from scratch. That was a struggle but I had patient. After several youtube tutorials, frustrations and google searching I managed to create my vision of a preset selling website. It only took 3 days!! Then I found Etsy and it was much easier to just upload my products here haha!

What inspires you when you’re creating? How do you get ideas for new products? What are some methods or tools you use to get creative?

In this case presets are very easy to get inspired for. So I pretty much get inspired by everything, traveling, food, pets, clothing, and influencers’ lifestyle. I keeping myself updated with the latest Instagram filter trends by just scrolling on different influencers’ feeds. And thereafter creating a preset similar to what I think my customer would like.

If you don’t get the kind of response you thought, don’t give up. Keep pushing and look at it as a long term business. I’ve been doing this for a year and I was close to giving up once in the beginning, now I get orders every day!

How do you personally define business success? Is it money? Freedom? Influence? Creative expression and innovation? Something else?

It is to be creative and to create whatever you want. It’s also doing all of these things from scratch. You basically do everything by yourself. Marketing, taking photos, technical issues, shipping, customer service, etc. It is like you trying out 10 different jobs so you’ll never get bored haha!

Describe your day-to-day operation. How do you manage your time?

I work from home, so I’m very flexible with my time. My main job is as an influencer, so I take pictures and do collaborations daily. After I’m finished with my influencer working hours, I sit down and work with my preset store and second-hand shop (style rebel). I’m currently working on a new launch for my clothing shop right now,
